The Bartons is an Ofsted ‘Good’ registered independent children’s home offering residential care for children & young people aged 11-16 years with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. These 8 bedded homes is set in a rural location near Chipping Norton and offers a holistic model of care and education for the residents, which is designed to provide an enriching and positive environment.  The home is supported by a specialist independent Ofsted registered school that provides our residents a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum to support their personal and academic needs. The Bartons is within commutable distance from Banbury, Charlbury, Kingham, Oxford, Bicester and other surrounding towns and villages.

The Role

As a Night Children’s Support Worker within our residential home at The Bartons, you will work directly with vulnerable children with SEMH challenges. Our Night Children’s Support Workers carry out an essential and varied role to provide the individual, bespoke, support required by the children and young people in our care. You will help the children with their nightly routine, collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth day to night transition, complete relevant paperwork, deliver personal care, undertake household tasks, and where appropriate administer medication.

Your empathy and warmth are just what’s needed in this rewarding role, working as part of an incredible team of committed care workers to help vulnerable children and young people feel safe and secure as they build the skills they need for life.

You’ll be friendly, patient, kind and considerate as you help them learn, making sure they’re well looked after whenever they’re in our care. You’ll love giving them space to grow and thrive, playing your part in creating a nurturing environment in which they can fulfil their potential.

Great communication skills are essential, as you’ll be in close contact with the children you care for on a daily basis. In this role, warm and welcoming smiles really matter!

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be excited to help vulnerable children and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, playing an essential role as part of our care-giving team. With your calm, conscientious approach, you’ll take care of everyday needs – vital help that can transform their lives.

You’ll play a key role in the smooth-running of the site, and you’ll have a good grasp of safety and hygiene. This is a role in which attention to detail really counts – and one that touches the real lives of people every day.

Our homes ideally need candidates who can drive so that the Children can be taken to appointments or fun days out and so that you can get to work. However, we’re aware that the upfront cost to learn to drive can sometimes be daunting, therefore if you don’t currently have a licence but you’re keen to learn and do your test, we can provide a loan to support you with this. The cost will be paid back in instalments over your first six months, so don’t let this hold you back and apply today!
