Role:                   Speech and Language Therapist

Location:             Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire and Newbury, Berkshire

There will be an expectation of travel within the locality

Salary:             £32,000-37,000 FTE, depending on experience

Contract:         Permanent, 3.5 days per week (52 week contract)

This is an exciting, new opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our clinical team, covering schools, residential homes and fostering agencies. An ideal opportunity for those who would be excited by creating a nationally important resource with the substantial backing of a leading provider of education and care for children, young people, and adults with complex needs.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established in house clinical team, supporting SaLT practice across the organisation and contributing to the professional development of staff, research and dissemination of understanding, knowledge and good, evidence- based practice. You will work with staff and young people, covering Park and New Barn School and surrounding residential homes and contribute to the assessment and intervention plans for our children and young people with developmental trauma, autism, ADHD, complex and SEMH needs. You will also be contributing to training, consultation with staff members and reflective practice. There may also be opportunity for clinical involvement within fostering services.

You will be responsible for holding the speech and language therapy caseload at Park School and New Barn School and surrounding residential homes. You will work closely alongside our in house clinical team. It is an exciting opportunity to be supported by and work alongside our specialist clinical team hub across the region, which comprises of Clinical Psychology, OT, psychotherapy and therapy and psychology assistants.

We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist. Someone with a holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services would be perfect for this role.

Requirements

  • Speech and Language Therapist with an active HCPC registration   
  • Experience within the specialist client group. (complex communication issues relating to autism, including language disorder, dyspraxia, sensory impairment, learning disabilities/difficulties and associated challenging behaviour) 
  • Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services within the designated speciality preferred. Newly qualified candidates will be considered.
