Job Title: Waking Night Support Worker
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week (4 on 4 off)
Salary: £19,327 per annum
Contract: 52 week, permanent
Location: Overton School, Ludlow, Shropshire
About the role
We are recruiting compassionate, hardworking and resilient Waking Night Support Worker to work alongside the existing team at Overton School in Ludlow, Shropshire to deliver a high quality of care and support to the children and young people in our care. You will contribute to individual Quality of Life Plans and provide a balanced programme of personal development focusing on social skills, independence and community involvement enabling the young people to achieve their full potential.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Waking Night Support Worker to join the team and to support our residents overnight. Ideally we require individuals who have experience of working with children and young people with an autistic diagnosis and associated challenges, although this isn't essential as training will be provided.
This role is a permanent night time role, working 12 hour shifts to provide overnight care and support for our residents. We offer flexible shift patterns (full and part time), which run over 7 days. A full time role, equates to 6 – 7 shifts per fortnight. The rota will be maintained in advance. Flexibility to travel and work shifts across multiple sites may be required.
If you have no experience but want to make a difference and have transferrable skills from working in hospitality, activity centres, the forces or public services, we would be excited to hear from you and can provide you all the training and support to succeed and develop, being a Support Worker.
Overton School is set in extensive grounds and provides education and care for young people between the ages of 11-16 with a primary diagnosis of Autism. The School provides both educational and vocational learning spaces for the young people, small class sizes and an individual learning plan for each young person. The residential home at Overton School provides care for 12 young people.
