We are currently seeking Children’s Deputy Manager (Deputy Manager) for our Woodview – 3D home.

About the Home:

Woodview is situated on the outskirts of Axminster and is home to four children aged between eight and eighteen in a split-level house, divided into 2 individualised flats.

Along with her team, our Registered Manager provides a wealth of experience that enables them to deliver excellent outcomes for the children in their care.

This home is based in Exeter, and is within commuting distance from Torquay, Tiverton, Devon, Axminster and surrounds.

The Role:

Main responsibilities will involve working as part as an established team, proving a safe nurturing environment for our residential students. Further duties will involve:

  • Assisting the Registered Manager with leading and supervising Support Workers
  • Manage the day to day running of the home to ensure the continuity of staff and their performance, using SMART targets
  • Ensuring that a nurturing and caring environment is provided for the children, by a well led and trained staff team who are encouraged to further their knowledge to meet the standards.
  • Respect resident’s values of privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
  • Maintaining and recording of necessary documentation
  • Support with improving mental health, learning, and forming a better life for themselves through our practice of therapeutic parenting and PACE techniques

What we need from you:

  • Currently hold an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care
  • At least 1 years’ experience as a Team Leader / Senior Care Worker, or role with responsibility of co-ordinating teams.
  • A sound knowledge of Children’s Homes regulations and Quality Standards is a must, with an in-depth understanding of Safeguarding Children and Multi agency working
  • A knowledge of PACE behaviour model will enable you to follow our Ethos, to provide positive behaviour management using a Conscious Parenting/PACE approach to enable Children make sense of their lives and thrive.
  • Knowledge of legislation, regulations and inspection relating to young people in Care
  • Prior knowledge and experience of writing Placement Plans, Risk Assessments and Behaviour plans to reflect Local Authority Plans and required Outcomes in a clear concise, informative and timely manner with updates as necessary.
  • Full and valid UK Driving Licence
  • Access to a car
