The Holden School Unveils New Sensory Room to Support Pupils
The Holden School is proud to announce the official opening of its new sensory room, a dedicated space designed to support pupils' sensory, motor and emotional regulation needs.
A pupil at Wetheringsett Manor School has achieved an outstanding personal milestone after successfully completing a swimathon, demonstrating remarkable determination, resilience and progress.
Just eight weeks ago, Junior was unable to swim. Through dedication, perseverance and the support of those around him, he recently completed an incredible 75 lengths of the pool – a total distance of 1,500 metres – in an impressive time of 54 minutes and 50 seconds.

Throughout the event, staff and swimming instructors were on hand to provide encouragement from the poolside, while fellow swimmers with additional needs and their carers joined in celebrating Junior’s achievement and the confidence he has developed in recent months.
As well as reaching this significant personal goal, Junior used the challenge to raise money for two important charities, Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie, raising an impressive £212.06.
To add to his success, Junior was also awarded Swimmer of the Month by his instructor and received two medals in recognition of his hard work, commitment and determination.
Junior’s achievement is a powerful example of what can be accomplished through perseverance, support and self-belief. His journey from non-swimmer to completing a 1,500-metre swimathon in just eight weeks is truly inspiring and highlights the positive impact of setting goals and embracing new challenges.
Congratulations, Junior, on this fantastic achievement. Everyone at Wetheringsett Manor School is incredibly proud of your success and the determination you have shown throughout your journey.
