Pupil Completes Incredible Swimathon Achievement
A pupil at Wetheringsett Manor School has achieved an outstanding personal milestone after successfully completing a swimathon, demonstrating remarkable determination, resilience and progress.
The Holden School is proud to announce the official opening of its new sensory room, a dedicated space designed to support pupils’ sensory, motor and emotional regulation needs across both primary and secondary sites.
Developed in collaboration with Rhino Sensory UK, the sensory room has been carefully designed to provide a consistent, supportive environment where pupils can regulate, refocus and feel ready to learn.
What makes the space particularly special is that it has been shaped by Pupil Voice, ensuring that the needs and experiences of the pupils who will use it have been central to the design process. From calming features to thoughtfully selected equipment, every element has been chosen to create an inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing, engagement and confidence.
The new sensory room represents another important step in The Holden School’s commitment to creating accessible, inclusive learning environments that enable every pupil to thrive. The development aligns closely with the school’s neurodiversity strategies, Ask, Accept, Develop (AAD), and its Trauma Informed Practice (TIP) approach, helping to ensure pupils receive the support they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
By investing in specialist spaces such as this, The Holden School continues to demonstrate its dedication to meeting the diverse needs of its pupils and fostering an environment where every young person feels understood, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
The school would like to thank everyone involved in bringing this exciting project to life and looks forward to seeing the positive impact the sensory room will have on pupils for years to come.
