Over the years Belmont School’s vocational programmes have gone from strength to strength, seeing pupils take the new skills gained and progress on to college courses and Apprenticeships in these areas.
The School could see the potential in the vocational programmes taught, for all pupils, and in March 2018 opened their new state-of-the-art training facility. Specially kitted out, the Centre offers nationally accredited qualifications in Joinery, Plastering, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing, Electrical and Motor Vehicle. The centre gives pupils the opportunity to work in real-world simulated facilities and use industry specific machinery and equipment, all under the supervision of highly qualified and experienced staff.
All the pupils enjoy the hands-on learning which offers alternative to being in the classroom. Giving them the opportunity to put their core skills in to practice and learning essential softer skills such as communication, team work, problem solving and confidence building.
